English author and illustrator, Helen Beatrix Potter, is best known for her numerous children's books featuring amusing characters such as the infamous Peter Rabbit. Growing up surrounded by pets, she found herself observing and sketching her beloved animals, including her two rabbits, Benjamin and Peter. It was from these wonderful little creatures that Beatrix Potter gained inspiration for her many stories and illustrations. In 1901, Peter Rabbit made his debut in her notable children's story The Tale of Peter Rabbit, a tale of a mischievous little bunny and his adventures in the garden of Mr. McGregor. The success of her first book eventually led Beatrix Potter to write and illustrate a total of 23 books featuring characters bursting with excitement and personality. Charming characters such as Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and many others have become favorites among all generations.
