Joe MacPhale of Ancient Whispers - Creating Fine Dolls Since 1984

"The first thing is your dream" explains Joe MacPhale about his creative process. Joe's artistic spirit was awakened in kindergarden when he made his first drawing from tempra paints. His mother was a fine seamstress and introduced him to the art of making dolls. A talented and restless artist, Joe MacPhale has explored and mastered many techniques including sewing, wood-carving, costume designing, jewelery making, and airbrushing. He combines many of these skills creating his precious, small limited editions including his exciting BJDs (ball-jointed dolls). Joe MacPhale has received recognition in many magazines including two cover stories in one year for Doll Crafter & Costuming!
