As the cool darkness of evening comes over the fields, the grandchild finds his favorite seat upon Grandpa's knee as his grandfather retells the stories found in the stars of the night sky. Together they share a family bond, as well as a connection to the generations who came before.

12 inch Grandpa and his grandson, 9 inches, are seated on a 4 inch round wooden base with a sculpted top. The base has a sculpted tree stump. The old man is a portrait sculpt of Dizzy Gillespie and the boy is a stock model. They are full-body sculpts of ProSculpt polymer clay. Their skin patina is created with water-based oils which are applied by brush as a paste, before the excess is removed to achieve the desired transparency. Grandpa's hair is alpaca and his grandson's hair is wool, with both featuring the hand-painted glass bead eyes which Mark makes for each figure.

Grandpa wears denim pants and a cotton shirt. The child has cotton drawstring pants with a linen shirt. The fabrics are vintage material which is cleaned and reused.
