In fact, Steiff first discovered this Teddy in 2008 and he sat on their drawing board for four years! For the 2011 collection, a designer decided to take a fresh look at the project. He saw something in the eyes and forehead that others hadn't noticed before. Suddenly, the solution became clear to him. The design then quickly fell into place. This gorgeous 18 inch bear is made of a specially dyed brown bleached and distressed mohair. Shaving around his muzzle and eyes, with airbrushed accents as well give his face character. Glass pupil eyes are the final touch, making him extra lifelike. A five-way jointed bear, he features a growler so he can cheerfully greet you when you come home! Like all true replicas, this one is stuffed with wood shavings for a traditional feel and tagged with the underscored button made of patinated steel. The result is pure perfection.
