The Toy Shoppe is proud to bring our collectors this special Steiff edition.Sitting only 5.5 inches tall, Little Bonzo is five-way jointed and is made of the finest cotton velvet. He has blue felt discs behind sparkling black eyes to replicate the appeal of his whimsical expression. Like his much larger, sold out companion from 2009, Little Bonzo is a masterpiece of Steiff detailing. He features a clever mix of printing, airbrushing, and hand-painting to capture all the unique attributes that make the Bonzo character so endearing. This 2011 white tag limited edition is part of the European Collectors series.

The original comical canine character was created by the English illustrator, G.E. Studdy, and was born in the 1920s at the Steiff Company. However, without Studdy's consent, none of the more than 100 different prototypes was ever commercially to be mass produced. In 2002, Bonzo nevertheless became quite famous. An original from the year 1927 achieved the highest bid ever placed at an auction during the Steiff Festival that was made for a 'Non-Teddy' by Steiff.
